I'm goin' on a trip.....WISH ME LUCK!

Howdy y'all! First of all, I'd like to thank those of you who have emailed me recently wondering where I've been, and asking if I'm OK. To put a rumor to rest....NO, I am NOT considering moving out of Martinaville. Nor am I considering moving to Carolynville, or any other "Hottie-ville". As I said before, I am a PERMANENT RESIDENT of Martinaville, and will NEVER move out of this padded tree.

Some of you have even asked me if I've become a bigger fan of CDJ, especially since the number of my posts on CDJ's board recently was about three times the number of my posts on this BB. ABSOLULTELY NOT!!! Martina is my favorite singer NOW and FOREVER, and I don't think I'll ever find another singer whose music I will ever love as much as Martina's, no matter how much of a hottie they are, heh heh heh!

The REAL reason why I haven't been around here much is because I've been VERY busy, and after reading this, you'll know why........

In case you didn't see it, click on the following link to see a poster that was sold on eBay several weeks ago:

http://home.earthlink.net/~stvnjgordon/Penetrators.jpg

Apparently this is a poster of Martina's 80s band in Sharon KS called The Penetrators. At first I couldn't tell if that really WAS Martina on the far left, because it's hard to tell from this picture of the poster. But thanks to a generous Martina fan (who is also a very good friend of mine), I now have a few high-quality copies of that poster, and can say that it's definitely Martina. She's quite young, and her hairstyle is so different from what we're used to, but I'd recognize those gorgeous eyes from a mile away. If I could get this darn scanner working, I'd scan it so y'all could see for yourself. I'm guessing that she must have been in her late teens or very early 20s when the pic was taken.

As some of you know, I am a MAJOR collector of rare Martina recordings, and I am on a never-ending mission to find Anything And Everything that was ever recorded by Martina. Since it is now probably impossible to find any recordings of The Penetrators, a few weeks ago I decided to finish building my Time Machine, and I intend to travel back in time to mid-80s Sharon Kansas in the hopes of finding Martina and her band. I'm not sure if I'll find any recordings of the band, but I'm gonna make sure I bring all kinds of recording equipment with me such as camcorders, tape recorders, and digital cameras.

At first, I was having trouble generating enough power for my Time Machine. Ever since I blew up my 8th grade science classroom, I'm not allowed near anything that has to do with nuclear fission or fusion, so I had to improvise on a power supply for the Flux Capacitor (which is what makes time travel possible). So I took what I thought was the most powerful stuff around, and hooked it up to the Flux Capacitor. Unfortunately, despite all the energy and power within, it still wasn't up to the challenge of supplying the large amount of energy required for the Flux Capacitor. Even though it didn't work, here's a picture of my first 'power supply':

For days, I was very frustrated over not being able to generate enough power to run my Time Machine. Then one day, it became obviously clear what I should use as a power supply:

As we all know, there is an ENORMOUS amount of power in just one of these. My Time Machine is running smoothly now, thanks to my new power supply.

My Time Machine is all loaded up with supplies and I'm ready to depart on my journey soon. At first I was considering taking someone with me, because I still had room for another person in my Time Machine. Keith seemed to be the obvious choice, because like me, he is also trying to find as many rare Martina recordings as possible. Keith is also from Kansas, and knows the area very well, which I thought might come in handy. But there would have been a high risk that the Keith from THAT time might see the Keith from THIS time, and that might have created a riff in the space-time continuum that might have been catastrophic. So, sorry Keith, I can't take you with me THIS time; it's too dangerous.

My second choice was Claude, since he also has some experience with time travel and building Time Machines. But Claude is obviously not thinking very clearly right now, because he's still on Cloud 9 after his first Meet and Greet with Martina this past weekend. Shucks, he almost forgot his CAMERA after he got his pic taken with Martina, and I can't risk taking someone with me who might leave a piece of today's technology in the past. Plus, Claude won't fit in my Time Machine anyway, because he's 7 FEET TALL!!!

So instead of bringing someone with me, I decided to bring my amplifier and acoustic & electric guitars, in the hopes of maybe joining the Penetrators in a jam session, heh heh heh!

I'll be leaving for the past tomorrow (did that make sense?....), so if you don't see me on the bulletin board for a while, it's because I'm doing a little traveling....TIME traveling, that is! If all goes well, I'll have many hours of recordings of Martina and her old band when I get back. Wish me luck!

Martinaly yours,

The Time-Travelin' Speedster

PS: I'm still waitin' for Carolyn to email me, so if she comes around here lookin' for me, please let her know that I'll be back!
