Ok, so there I just was looking at the status of the baseball games going on today... Yeah, I know, it's spring training, and early spring training to boot... Here's the graphic that came up, and for a second I had to wonder if Martina was moonlighting for the Atlanta Braves... Is their pitching THAT bad this year??!

The pitcher's name is Macay McBride.. No relation that I can tell.. http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com//NASApp/mlb/...layer_id=434680

Anyway, just thought it was funny. Also, if there are any other baseball junkies out there we have 4 slots open for our Martinaville fantasy league baseball game... More info here:

Take care,

I think having Martina on the mound could be a good thing ... her lovely eyes could mesmerize the opponents batters. Of course there is a chance that they could also mesmorize the catcher and home plate umpire as well ... maybe that's not a good thing after all - SOMEONE COULD GET HURT!! LOL!! laugh.giftongue.gif

My thoughts exactly! I've been a Braves fanatic for... oh... this'll be my 16th year (so basically since I was BORN!), but you really don't know what they're gonna do or have comin' your way! tongue.gif

And that is really funny. If I saw it, I would've thought the same thing. ph34r.gif

Spring training has just started, and I think I've already had enough baseball. I haven't really cared for baseball since all those millionaires went on strike in 1994. But, I was off work yesterday and the Dodgers were playing the Braves on TV. I figured I would watch it. I know it's just spring training, but it was typical Dodgers all the way. A four run lead in the ninth inning. Braves bring 5 batters to the plate and they all score.
I can't wait for football to start again.

1. How many of the current players do you think were playing in 1994? Maybe 5% or so??

2. Who cares if your team blew a lead in the 9th inning, the concept of spring training is to take a look at prospects and to work on new pitches and such. It doesn't really matter who wins these games.

3. Football is the biggest waste of time that I can imagine. I absolutely hate it, wouldn't watch it if you paid me a million bucks, etc.

I don't know why you felt the need to bring negativity into a lighthearted post, just as I don't get why people will see a positive post about an artist they don't like in the country music room and they feel like they have to post something saying "I don't like them" or "they stink" etc... There are some times the "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" rule applies.

RED SOX fan here!! I am so psyched about baseball season starting!! biggrin.gifI watch most games that are on and subscribe to MLB radio to listen to games at work. I've been watching some of the WBC on tape delay and was very suprised when Japan lost to Korea. These games are fun to watch! I also lost interest after the strike.mad.gifI came back by playing fantasy sports. Yahoo and many others offer free games to people. It's a great way to keep up on new players and keep up with teams on the other side of the country that most would pay no attention to.

--------------------
I grew up on country. As a teenager, I listened to rock and pop, and I sang other music, but by the time I was about 20, I realized that it didn't touch me. It felt shallow for me to sing it. It didn't mean to me what country meant. Country felt like home.
