Great review Claude, sounds like a fun time. I know how nice and friendly Martina and John are and it must rub off on their fans. Some of the nicest people I've met. Look forward to meeting more. Maybe...Hopefully next year.

Hello everyone, it's Christine. Thought I would add something about MartinaFest.

Well, Keith did an awesome job arranging the opportunity to attend Martina's sound check and the opportunity to give her a small birthday party.

We gave Martina 5 gifts. The first gift was a beautiful lead crystal bowl from Lenox -- it is called "Lenox Timeless Centerpiece Bowl" and it was really exquisite. I really think Martina like it -- especially since it was called Timeless. The second gift was a beautiful frame from Michael Hero who is very well-known for his frames because he hand applies the enamel finish. Martina said she was going to put the frame on her piano. Again, I think she really liked the frame. We also gave her a personalized book which details what went on in 1966, a large box of penny/nickel/dime candy from a candy company which makes candy from the different years -- in this case the 1960s, and a box of Angi-Aging Mints for 40 year olds. We had a huge card made which said on the front and inside -- Happy 40th Birthday Martina! and inside the card there were pictures of Martina's CDs and pictures of her throughout her career. It also said, Happy Birthday Martina! We hope you have a great 40th birthday. Thank you for being Timeless!

Martina was so gracious and kind with everyone and my husband, who has never met Martina, was just amazed that Martina was so kind and down to earth with everyone. When Martina asked what we would like to request for Thursday night's concert, the request for Where Would You Be, Whatever You Say and of course my request of How Far was asked along with several other requests. I was so excited that Martina sang How Far. That is my very favorite ballad! One more thing, Martina was so nice to autograph things the fans had with them. I had two Martina Barbie dolls with me just in case Martina was autographing items. I surprised two of my friends with them on Saturday and they were thrilled -- they actually couldn't believe it until I showed them a picture of me at Martina's party. It's amazing that a $20 Barbie signed by Martina can brighten up someone's day so much. Both of these friends don't have a lot of extra money so I was so happy to surprise them with the signed Martina Barbie.

Oh, one more thing, little Ava sure does like sweets. She really loved the birthday cake and she kept wanting more. That was too cute!

I guess that's it! Thanks again Keith for making this happen. You are the BEST!

One more thing! I wanted to fill up the Lenox crystal bowl with blue M&Ms, but we didn't have enough time to get them ordered and delivered in time.

I think that would have been too funny!

I'm glad you all had such a great time. I hope I can attend the next one.

But the most incredible thing in all the posts is that customs let Keith back into the states!! biggrin.gif

We had the least trouble, with customs. We wouldn't have even needed our birth cerfiticates. They were a piece of cake compared to all the other things that happened to us! mad.gif

Thanks for the report Claude - I actually found it quite brief for one of yours  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

So if they were going to film the show, does that mean that at some point there will be a Live DVD?

Ross

It wasnt filmed:( it was supposed to be, but they decided not to, which ended up being a good thing, because the casino crowd was a lot of people that were gold card members of the casino, it wasnt Martina's real fanbase so the crowd didnt get into it as much as we wouldve liked, so they opted against the DVD but said they'd film at a later show

VERY good call!!! I would definitely prefer a recorded show to feature all TRUE Martina fans!

Timeless is the BEST of all the shows I've ever seen Martina do! Paying tribute to those artists literally brought tears to my eyes!! Thank-you Martina for keeping the roots of country music alive!! It just cannot get any better!
