That would be cool, in a way, if she did, but as a music teacher of mine once explained, the human voice is The First Instrument—all others can merely mimic it.
So Martina has already mastered the best and most difficult instrument of all.

IMO, I don't think playing a guitar or other instrument could add anything to Martina's talent or charm. (Though maybe a fiddle...nothin' in the world compares with a pretty woman with a fiddle, but that's a story for another day.)

Same thing with songwriting. From time to time we hear someone complain that Martina doesn't write any of her own music. Well, neither did Frank Sinatra (who BTW also didn't play a mechanical instrument).

But, in the end, I have no idea whether she does or does not. Never heard anything that might lead me to believe she does.

Cordially,

Tom

Someone said that she could have been play in "My Baby Loves Me" but I don't think that she was. Because, she wasn't moving her left hand much and the strokes on the guitar that she was making were pretty large. Then again, she could have been playing bar chords... who knows?

Thanks! I seen this thing on the internet that said she could play the guitar. I don't remember where I seen, but that's what it said!

I know she plays the harmonica and keyboard, but I never knew that she played the saxaphone in school. We have three saxaphones in my band.

If you saw that Biography Channel program on Martina, it seems that there were not enought people in her HS to make up a team, much less a band!

thanx to Steve for the inside info, as always

for what I know, she did play the piano during the "Emotion" tour in "Valentine" ... many fans here also have the Atlanta concert soundtrack from that tour and you can hear that there are two pianists/keyboardists on that song; I wonder if there was ever a video of this, it would be a rare sight

as far as the guitar besides "My Baby Loves Me"... in "Baywatch" she carries a guitar case up and down the beach in the entire episode, I'm sure it was empty laugh.gif

With a voice like that it should be her main concern. I wonder though, with the background your family has...I would guess she knows a few chords, can play a little?
