CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FAVORITE SINGER FOR YET ANOTHER CMA FEMALE VOCALIST NOMINATION! I did a little research and Martina's been nominated for this particular award 10 times now, with 4 wins. The only female vocalists who have been nominated more are Emmylou, Lorretta, Reba, and Dolly. M is currently tied with Reba for the most wins at 4. I guess the reason I'm posting this is because even though a lot of us are disappointed that Timeless was not nominated today for Album of the Year, we still have much to celebrate. We're proud fans, we love our favorite singer, and we also love to see her win. Nothing wrong with that . . . it's FUN! But we know it's not a contest, and that in the grand scheme of things, the number really don't matter much. I mean . . . take a look at this list. Do you see Patsy Cline on this list? Does it make her any less of a legend? No. And Tammy and Loretta each have 3 wins, Dolly only 2. Martina has said in the past that it's always a thrill to be on the list because common sense tells us that someday she won't be. So I'm thrilled for her. As you can see, she has taken her place among the great female vocalists in country music history. No matter what happens from here on out, even if her name is never called again, she's made her mark in country music and I'll always be a proud fan. Val-entine (who really hopes she gets #5!) No album of the year?!? What kind of institution runs the CMA's? That's insane. I am incredibly disappointed. I figured she would get a female vocalist nod for sure and I was hoping Album because that is definitely deserving. --------------------

Very nicely said val-intine and congrads M. I do have to add though how disappointed i was that Timeless was not nominated,it did not get much radio play but it got tons of great press and a very well received tour.I know nothing about the music biz but i think an album that was produced they way Timeless was should have been recognized,Timeless is a work of art and it seems to me from all that i've read that there was alot of people that felt that way. I hope the CCMA will recognize this album, i sure will be a proud Canadian if it does.
