in this category... I don't feel Carrie deserves the nomination just yet... she's too new... I LOVE Carrie but she hasn't paid her dues yet. --------------------

I agree that the nominations are simply based on who the promoters think will cause the most people to tune in for the show. Faith is always a crossover draw, Carrie is about as ahot as a new artit can get and will bring along all those AI fans, Gretchen is in their eyes the one who will draw all the others. I don't understand why she wasn't nominated either !! She has a great CD out and a tour that can't be beat !!! I also don't know why someone would nominate Gretchen Wilson over her !!!

I know a lot of people think Carrie doesn't deserve the nom but I think she does. She has paid her dues, just in different ways. She works just as hard is any of them. I would however say that I think Martina should have been nominated over Gretchen, no doubt about it. It's just my opinion though, don't kill me.

Martina should have been nominated, but I don't understand all the hating on Carrie. She had by far the biggest sales this year. She will likely finish 2nd to Rascal Flatts in sales for the year. Martina is her idol and I hope they work together as soon as possible.

On another forum, somebody said that Martina "should've" been left off like she was because you don't see her on CMT and GAC or hear her on the radio. They also said that her album sales, tour sales and popularity didn't warrant a nomination.
They forgot to mention that there is very little of Martina in Country Weekly.  |
