She looks awesome, although she always does so nothing new there. it is good to know that we still have people who would rather stand up for their values than do anything for just a sale.

From the Tennesseean article:
"And in the six months we spent getting the portfolio done, the cartoon image of hairdos and heartaches, hat acts, hoe downs, and hee-haw gave way to a deeper understanding of heartbreakers, groundbreakers and timeless originals," writes Vanity Fair's Lisa Robinson.

Hmmmmm.
verrry interesting...I wonder what that reference to "timeless originlas" could possibly be referring to.

Cordially,

Tom

It's great that Martina took a stand and all, but I'm not sure I completely understand. It's okay for her to wear Daisy Duke short shorts but not okay for a man to have his shirt off? You can practically see all his upper body anyway.

And...what about when you go swimming at the pool or the beach? You're gonna see guys with their shirts off and that shouldn't be a bother to someone's "family values."

I'm not trying to start anything. I really do admire her courage in speaking up...I'm just honestly curious about what the differences are.

I think it was that whole thing of the photographer telling her to flirt with Billy. She IS married after all & has small, impressionable children. I know that if I were in her position, I would not be comfortable engaging in that behavior either--
b/c like it or not, it sends a message. Also, I don't think her being in shorts is any character flaw. I for one think they are cute & that she has remained tasteful... just my two cents.

Timeless is the BEST of all the shows I've ever seen Martina do! Paying tribute to those artists literally brought tears to my eyes!! Thank-you Martina for keeping the roots of country music alive!! It just cannot get any better!

Oh right. I totally agree about the flirting, but it does also say that she was uncomfortable with him removing his shirt for the shoot...

I think it would have been just a little too suggestive with them looking at Billy topless, and Martina would have to explain to the girls why she was ogling and flirting with this guy who is not their Daddy. I think she was right to draw the line.

Cordially,

Tom

P.S. But I must say, I'm glad she didn't draw the line at the shorts. As it stands they are very (!) cute (if not a little suggestive, and by that I mean causing guys, at least for a second or two, to look again and maybe even think things they ought not be thinking...hey...I'm just saying...). If she had been standing up in them, doing a DaisyDuke pose, well that would have been a bit too much—not to mention completely out of character— but as it is, I see nothing wrong.

P.P.S. It's a a darn good thing Keith posted this story too, cause without it we probably wouldn't have noticed that Billy was even in the picture!

P.P.P.S. And can I get an amen on Trisha? Does she look as good as ever?

I like the resulting photo shoot and glad that Martina made her suggestions. They all look great.

Wow that car! My brother-in-law had a yellow Ford convertable, he called the money pit. My sister and him took me to the drive in to see my first movie. Remember drive in theatres?

Yes indeed! The car too! Ain't it a beauty.
Looks like a 57 or 58 Ford.
My very first car was a white 58 Ford convertible.
Lasted about a week and I had to have it towed to the junkyard.
Guess I didn't get much out of my $10 investment!

Now, if I had had Martina gracing that car. Priceless.
Of course, that was 1968 and Martina was not yet 2.
A little too young for those DD shorts.

Cordially,

Tom

(Yes, I remember drive-ins too.)

The picture looks great. I can only hope to look that good at 40 and 40+(not sure how old Tricia is. but it looks like being around Garth and the kids agrees with her .)

Ps. I hope John appreciates what Martina did (I am not sure I could have done what she did. I think I would have caved with the pressure)
