Here s a little (true) story.

About 6 months, i decided to ask my local sports bar manager if you could put a Martina Cd in his jukebox. He replied that he had no control over it, that the jukebox is own by a company, a guy comes in about once a month for it.

Unsatisfied with his answer, a month later, i decided to ask the same question to his son (and my friend) Kosta. I basically got the answer. I then thought that the situation was hopeless.

Then about a month and half ago, i noticed that there some new AC-DC songs on the jukebox. There s a waitress there named Alex, who is a big AC-DC fan, so i told her about it and she replied: "I know, i m the one who asked for it". I asked how she acheived that feat. She said she met the jukebox guy and requested the AC-DC CDs, that there was one on it, and she asked for another, plus some Metallica. So i then told her, that i would really like if the guy could put at least one Martina Cd and one Olivia Cd in it(I asked for Martina s greatest hits, and Olivia s Totally hot....). She said she would talk to the guy and would get back to me.

Well about 3 weeks ago, she came back to me about it. She said she struck out with the Olivia CD, but the guy had 3 Martina Cds and that they would make choose which one i prefer between the 3. I said "Great!" and i thought i would finally get my wish.

About 2 weeks ago, i bugged her again about it. Alex replied that the jukebox guy didnt have any Martina Cd after all, if Leeann Rimes would do instead. Needless to say, i was disappointed(Nothing against Leeann, but i asked for Martina music, i want Martina music).

Finally yesterday i got a great surprise. Alex asked me: "Did you see the new jukebox?". "What new jukebox? i said. She showed me, there s now a new jukebox with 1300 songs in it. If you click on "M", there s 2 Martina McBride Cds(Evolution and Wild Angels). BÜT that s not the end of it............IF you click on one of Martina CDs, you can play a few of her songs, but there s also a button that says MORE and if you click on it, you can play ANY of Martina McBride songs. AND I REALLY MEAN ANY, cause there s all the Timeless songs, Over the rainbow live, any old songs and even a Christmas song!!!!!!!!!!!!Man, i love this new technology!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you press on MORE, it costs one selection less(you usually get 3 selections for a dollar, so instead you get two).

So tonite i m going to back to play a few Martina songs. I m not the kind of fan, who listen to radio or call to make requests on the radio, so the jukebox request thing is my way of making people discover Martina incredible voice.

P.S: Oh and by the way, the new jukebox also includes Olivia s Back to basics, and by pressing MORE you get something like 30 Olivia songs.....I won my bet with Olivia too!

Awesome.

Even though I might have been disappointed with no Martina, I would have been glad to get LeAnn.

It could have been worse and the waitress could have not asked.

Have a few cold ones and play them all!

That could get expensive I guess....Maybe you could solicit donations from the crowd.

Cordially,
Tom

Glad to hear you got your wish! I've noticed the more 'modern' jukeboxes DO have Martina CD's on them (at least where I live). I'm so used to rocking the jukebox, but I never miss an opportunity to 'spin' a few of Martina's tunes. biggrin.gif

Tom,
The very first Martina song i played was Cry on the shoulder of the road. I m sure Ross will be glad to hear that too. I guess i was influenced by your other thread.

I even used a special feature that allowed to play it before any other song already selected in the jukebox at the time. However it costs an extra selection for it too. Nothing too bad for the working class biggrin.gif

Both waitresses, asked me(a minute apart) how much money i had put in the jukebox. First Alex: "5 dollars" I said. She replied "So that means we re going to listen to 10 Martina songs". Then Vero: "5 dollars!"., she replied "Oh my god, that means we re going to hear 10 Martina McBride songs!!!!". It s kind of funny that they had the exact same reaction. But for the record, i played something like 8 Martina songs and 2 Olivia songs. It reminded me how much i like songs like "Phones are ringing all over town" and "Two more bottles of wine" for instance.

Going back tonite tongue.gif

One song that can't ever be played too often in my opinion biggrin.gif

Kudos for perseverance Claude, cracking excuse for going down the local boozer "I only go to play Martina on the jukebox" tongue.gif

Ross

p.s. One day I must try this 'beer' that people talk about......
