Alison Kruass I consider bluegrass more than Patty Loveless, but both are very good. Patty does have some songs that would fit in that category, now that I think about it.

alison krauss and patty loveless. although she has a beautiful voice in general, i like patty's bluegrass recordings more than her country recordings.

Even though Patty is my most favorite female singer of all time, and she does amazing bluegrass, but I'm going to have to go with Alison for this one! I also love Rhonda too.

ha, well, it was really tough not to pick Patty because I totally love Mountain Soul and her other bluegrass work (have you heard her duet with Ralph Stanley: "Pretty Polly"? ...it's AWESOME! Especially the live version, which can be seen on YouTube and it's on a cd too. I have the studio version that I got from iTunes.). I had to go with Alison (& Union Station), since I most relate her with bluegrass music and know a good amount of her/their songs and just love them. I know some of Alison's songs are not pure bluegrass, but they still have bluegrass instruments in them, and her voice sounds great with them, so that doesn't bother me. |
