I figured it was time to bore y'all with another one of my songs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Eye of the Storm

I was late to work,
Way behind,
Then I spilled my coffee,
Waitin' in line,
At the grocery store,
with a list 3 miles long,

Picked up the mail,
Tons of bills,
On my way to the pharmacy,
To pick up Mom’s pills,
Of course they hadn’t come,
I had the day wrong…

All that’s easily forgotten
In the quiet here with you,
The storm whirls by outside these walls,
But I don't hear a thing,
'Cept your beating heart,
And whispers in the dark,
Here in the eye of the storm…

Don't do this or that,
But this is fine,
That's just society,
Weighing on my mind,

My dress is too long,
My opinion's too strong,
And telling a woman she can’t
Murder her unborn child is just plain wrong…

Chorus

It will end,
We'll be part of the world again,
Dawn will break,
Whirlwinds will begin,
And we'll face another day…

Chorus

We'll fly in the eye of the storm
We'll fly in the eye of the storm….

This is just a general country trivia game. Each post should start w/ "If you know anything about country music, you know that..." and ask your question. The next person answers it, and then posts another one.

Eg:
Person A: If you know anything about country, you know that Martina McBride's daughters are named...
Person B: Delany, Emma, and Ava, If you know anything... ect.

First question: If you know anything about country music, you know that Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love is by....

Thank you, Ania, for the great screencaps! I put the text a little farther up on these b/c I noticed that if it's in the bottom corner, you can't see it once you make the pic your desktop. It gets covered up by the bar at the bottom of the screen. Enjoy:

Ok, so my friend and I both love to write songs, so we come up with a title and then both write a song using that title. It's interesting how different they are. She wrote about a girl who was "popular" at school who lived a bitter life. I'm sorry to those who thought the last one was too deep- you have to suffer through one more. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The dinner's burnt,
She's gained some weight,
The house's a mess,
That's what she hears all day,
When he's home...

She cries alone, everynight,
Just wondering where he is,
thinking up lies,
to tell her kids,
and she wakes up in his arms...

So she'll swallow this bitter medicine,
Because she thinks that she needs him,
She's been hooked and he's her drug,
But she still thinks that she's in love,
She still thinks that she's in love,
Addicted to this bitter drug...

It's Valentine's, but he's workin' late,
Cause someone's gotta keep the bills paid,
and she's selfish for wanting him home,
That's what she hears,
Over the phone...

Mascara rivers down her face,
and hair a mess- all out of place,
She kisses her angels goodnight,

and She leaves the room, bitter and mad,
Ashamed of who they call dad,
but then she sees the wine and candlelight...

Chorus

All her resolve is washed away,
When he looks at her that way,
she knows that he doesn't care about her,
but she can't forget the way that they were...

Chorus

Ok, here's a song I wrote in my head laying in bed one night.

She can hear her parents
Down the hall,
The yells echo,
Through the wall,

Tear stream down,
Her pretty cheeks,
The same way
It’s been for weeks…

“Lord, please help my daddy,
And I’m sorry for whatever I did,”
Taking the blame upon herself,
She’d whisper as she hid,

An angel girl,
To pure for this world,
The saddest prayer
You’ve ever heard…

Daddy was gone all night again,
And she knows
What that means,

Under the covers,
She hopes he won’t find her,
As she prays for wings…

Chorus

Her bruises make her stronger,
Hard and tough against the pain,
But her heart’s still pure and tender,
Her soul remains the same…

Chorus
