Wow, this one turned out completly different than the draft! This one reminds me kinda of concrete angel again, shifting once again into depressing, because as most know, it is easier to write sad songs then happy songs. This one was on hold for awhile and I finally finished it. Sorry for the flood of posting songs from me, just love getting feedback!
Alone
She’s good for nothing
Or so she’s been told
She laughs, she plays
She’s one, she’s her own
Look at her closely, there’s
More to her than you see
‘Cause every bruise on her body
Tells a story all it’s own
(Chorus)
Yeah, this one’s from
That fight about the car
And that one’s earned
From when daddy home
From spending this month’s rent
So small but so strong, she
Knows this side of the world already
‘Cause at the end of the day
All she is is alone
Her neighbours watch her skip home
Wondering how a child who looks
So hopeful, go into a place seeming so dark
But she knows to hold onto her dreams
Of a better life
And what would you do, when
(Chorus)
And she dreams
She dreams as her soul is set free
She has lived, loved
Her quiet strength a lesson too us all
And now, as the sun sets over the hills
She’s not alone anymore
(Chorus)
Because where she is
There are no fights about the car
And daddy doesn’t go out to no run down bar
So small but so strong, she knew that
Side of the world already
And as the day ends
She’s not alone anymore
Oh, not anymore
Oh………
