AllAboutCountry has changed their Reba listing on the New Releases page from "Reba and Faith--Sleeping with the Telephone" to "Reba McEntire--The Only Promise That Remains." They also include what must be a radio edit of the song. Honestly, they did a good job with the cuts. They cut part of the instrumental part at the beginning, they cut the entire instrumental solo section in the middle, and they cut part of the instrumental part at the end. They also cut the vocal part where Reba and Justin repeat "My love's the only promise that remains" three times and just play the third time. So, overall, I think the flow of the radio edit works, and I think it will sound nice on radio. Obviously, I prefer the CD version because it's much more complete, and I personally enjoy the instrumental section, but I think this works too. It sucks that they had to cut anything, but 5:05 is too long for radio, so considering it was inevitable, I think they cut the right things and put the pieces together well.
I love this song, so I'm certainly not disappointed. I'm just glad we're finally on the threshold of another single from Duets. Still no official announcement, but since this is not the only place I've seen this announced, I'm guessing this is getting pretty official. Here's that what should be another successful single for Reba! (IMG:
