Hello Martin McBride fans-
My name is Shannon Morris and I am a second year graduate student in
nutrition and food science at Oregon State University. Yes, home of the
Oregon State Beavers, who just last weekend ended their VERY LONG losing
streak. YEAH GO BEAVERS! Just a little school spirit.
Anyway, I have been a fan of Martin's since "Independence Day" came out.
All controversy aside, I think it had a very strong message that we should
all pay attention to. I still get goose bumps whenever I hear her sing that
particular song. I love all of her songs, especially "Wild Angels". I saw
Martina on the Rosie O'Donnell show and she seems like such a down to earth
nice person, and an awesome singer!
I am looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say, since I am glued
to my computer, I will be looking for new messages to get this internet
digest going!!
Talk with ya later
Shannon
(Thanks for the submission, Shannon! -Darren)

well, i guess i'll delurk to and introduce myself! my name is chris
skidmore, and i am a sophomore at the university of rochester in rochester,
NY. i am originally from north carolina, and as you might have guessed, i
love martina mcbride's music. i also throw in my allegiance with trisha
yearwood, faith hill, pam tillis, mary chapin carpenter, collin raye, rick
trevino, sawyer brown, and billy dean to name a few, but martina has always
been my favorite. i remember the first time that i ever heard a martina
mcbride song...i wasn't into country at the time at all, and i was watching
entertainment tonight (go figure! :) ). they were doing this spot on a
beautiful country singer named martina mcbride, whose new song,
"independence day" was creating a bit of a stir (at the time). i listening
to a five second preview of the video. i got chills. i got in the car and
drove to the nearby music store, and promptly bought the cd. it was the
first country cd that i bought intentionally. and i loved it. and then, i
started loved other country artists, and before you know it, i was a country
fanatic. i like just about anybody out there, but martina has always been my
favorite, and "independence day" is still one of my all-time favorite
songs. it will always be one of those "special songs"...and i hope that
someday martina will do another gretchen peters song. they make quite a
combo! i guess that's okay for an intro at two in the morning! just wanted
to say hi and wish everyone a great day! (all 250 of us!) take care...
chris :)
ps...
Darren, the digest and the web page look FANTASTIC. a truly incredible job!
