I apologize for the delay in getting these out, but I think I have a good

Dear All,
First I will just give a short introduction. I am a senior at the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor studying secondary education math and
physics. I am also the senior student manager/video coordinator for the U
of M basketball team. GO BLUE! No that that is out of the way, I just
wanted to once again, for the hundredth time say that Martina
is absolutely awesome and THE BEST SINGER country or otherwise around! I
became a fan of her music about four years ago when I heard "The Time Has
Come" on the radio. I got to see her in concert for the first time two
years ago and then had to wait until this summer to see her again. It was
definitely worth the wait! Then I saw her three times this summer, once a
month in June, July and August. Each time I heard her, it just got
better, and meeting her backstage was just as much fun each time. I
thought that I would have to wait for Fan Fair to see her again, but then
I found out she was playing in Kalamazoo, MI on Dec. 13th and I had to get
tickets. (Martina, I hope that you don't get sick of seeing me.) If
anyone else who is on the web is going to this show, let me know. Thanks
for doing such a great job with the digest Darren.
Dave
PS. Thanks for putting up with such a long message!

Hello Darren and Martina Fans,
A short introduction. I am Jack Pellis, I am 31 years old, married with a
lovely wife Peggy, age 22. We have two daughters Trisha 4 years old,
named after Trisha Yearwood, and Kyara 2 years old. We live in Essen
Belgium, Europe.
For those who might not know, Belgium is a very small country between The
Netherlands and France, from North to South and between England and
Germany from East to West. Country isn't so popular here, so we are
always far behind on new country stuff. Germany and The Netherlands are
quite up to date, so if we need really new stuff we get it there.
My wife and I are really crazy about Martina if she ever comes to Europe,
which wouldn't be Belgium but rather Holland or Germany, we will
certainly try to visit one of her performances. She has a wonderful
voice, which I guess I don't have to tell you all. We often play the two
Martina Cd's we have back here: 'The Way that I am' and 'Wild Angels'. My
favorite is 'Cheap Whiskey' I like the harmony of the Garth Brooks
background vocal.
Garth Brooks is my favorite male country singer. My wife's favorite is
'All the things we've never done'. But we both think all the songs are
good. Sometimes it happens, on some cd's that there are a few songs which
aren't good at all, but Martina's songs are all good. So we can play her
cd's from the beginning to the end without getting bored.
So we say, both keep up the good work, Martina and Darren.
Keep sending me the messages, 'cause I really like to know all about the
other Martina fans.
Our regards,
Jack and Peggy.

Martina will be here in Salina, KS on Nov. 9, 1996 with Joe
Diffie. I would very much like to meet and speak with her. I have Cystic
Fibrosis and am going to Durham, N.C. on Nov. 16th for a Bi-Lateral Lung
Transplant evaluation and sure would like to talk with her while she is
in town. I live in Salina. If there is any way you can help me with this
I sure would appreciate any help I could get to make this come true. I am
a big fan of hers.
Thanks,

AAAAHHHHHHHH! MAJOR DISSAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!! I wish somehow that when these
tour dates are posted, we knew which ones were private parties!!! I have
been planning on going to Martina's show in Wilmington, OH for quite a while
now, and figured they wouldn't start selling tickets 'till about now, so I
call to find out that it is a PRIVATE PARTY!!!! #@#%$!@$!% :( Believe it
or not, this is the second time this has happened to me! The first one was,
uh,....I forget where, but it turned out to be a private show. I even had
three other people lined up to go with me since it was so close!
AAAAAAGGGHHHH......whew. Alright, I'm done whining for now. Sorry you all
had to put up with that, but it had to be done. Darren, do we have any way
of knowing way ahead of time whether these shows are private or not,,,
without calling each venue? I guess I should have travelled to Chicago this
week!!
What's it cost to get Martina anyway? Maybe I'll have MY OWN PRIVATE
PARTY!!! Ha!
Well, Martina, I guess I won't see you in Wilmington after all.....
Here's the rose you would have recieved @>--,--'--
Thank you for the great shows this year in Merrillville, IN , Charleston,
WV and especially the Fan Club Party!
See ya next year!

(It's a rare occurance where the show is a private reception, but as
I see, it does happen. I will try to verify as much of the info I
get, but as always, if anyone knows anything let me know! And, I
don't know what a private Martina show would cost, but if you are
paying
Rick, I'll be in Cincinnati that day! :) -Darren)

I was at the concert in Red Wing at Treasure Island Casino. WOW! This
was one of my first Country shows and I can honestly say this was the
best of any show I have seen in 13 years. Martinas voice is a true
gift and the band is equally talented. Me and my wife had a great
time, hope you tour back in the Twin Cities soon. Best wishes on the
road, stay safe and have a good holiday season. Once again, excellent
show.

Hey Darren,
Inquiring minds wanna know!!! How was the concert? And, do

Hope it met all of your expectations...
All the best,
Connie Trainer

Thank you, everyone, for writing in! It is always great to hear from
fellow fans! And, now on to my concert review, and TWANG magazine info...
First, let me say that the TWANG issue is BEAUTIFUL! Besides the fact
that Martina is on the cover, and featured in a GREAT article with some GREAT
photos, the magazine is first rate. It is printed on heavy stock, and has a
squared off binding. It reminds me of a collectable concert program more than
a magazine, actually.
From what I can see, the magazine will sell individual issues if you
call them at: (817) 377-0970. They accept MasterCard and Visa. A yearly
subscription (10 issues) cost @22.50. A single issue costs $4.95. When you
call, please let them know that you got the info from the Martina McBride
Official Home Page!

HALLOWEEN NIGHT WITH MARTINA!
-----------------------------
What more can you ask for? To be able to see Martina would have made
my night. The ability to see Martina in a small club like Chicago's Whiskey
River was more than anyone can ask for!
My wife, Kym, and myself arrived at the venue at 5pm. Thanks to rush
hour here in Chicago, it took me 3 hours to get home and then drive back to
the concert. IT WAS WORTH IT!
The moment we got into the Whiskey River, I looked around and
immediately
saw Mylan Olson. If you were at Fan Fair, you know Mylan as the computer wizard
that was demonstrating the Home Page to Martina! Mylan and his brother
Nyman had
made the three hour drive from Wisconsin for the occassion, and I'm sure he will
have one heck of a submission on the evening himself! I also got to meet Nate
Rothstein, who runs his own Martina fan page on the web.
After a few minutes, they asked everyone to get in line, and that
Martina
would be coming out soon. As usual, Martina was great! I have never seen her
without a smile, or anything but upbeat, and Halloween was no different! The
people who got to meet and greet with Martina were the ones who purchased the
VIP tickets from the Illinois Women's Funding Federation. (I will post some
more
info on the Web about this worth charity)
I had brought a photo to get autographed, and my new best buddy Mylan
presented me with an 8x10 of the photo of Martina sitting at a computer with
the home page on the screen! (THANK YOU MYLAN! -- This photo is already up
in the Photo Gallery section of the Home Page) So, I got both pictures signed.
(THANK YOU, MARTINA!)
I presented Martina with all of the digests from the past few weeks
so that she can keep up with everything that is going on here on the internet.
She also told me that she has heard a lot of good things about the Home Page,
so a big THANK YOU to everyone that has mentioned it to her when you see her.
I has a lot of questions that I had wanted to ask Martina, but I
went totally blank on most of them! I guess that we'll have to pass some of
them along with the Digests!
Martina looked beautiful, and I have to mention that during the radio
interview on AM 1000 here in Chicago, Kevin Matthews (the DJ) asked Martina
if she was going to dress up for Halloween, and Martina replied "no, I'm funny
looking enough as it is." or something close to that. C'mon Martina! It's
always the beautiful ladies that act modest! You are one of the most beautiful
ladies around, after my wife of course! :>
After Martina had made her rounds, there was still a good three hours
to fill before the concert, and Mylan and I talked like old friends about the
web, Martina, and life here in the COLD midwest!
The show was, for lack of a better word, stunning! We were about 10
feet away from Martina! Her voice was great, and it appeared that she was
having a good time. The band was in fine form! I don't remember the exact
set-list, but Martina did sing "Crazy", "Your Cheatin' Heart", "When Will I
Be Loved", as well as all of her hits.
The acapella beginning of "Independence Day" brought the house down.
I've said a few times before that Martina's voice can hold up on it's own
without any studio tricks or instruments for that matter, and this just
proves it!
The only thing I can say is thank you Martina, for one great evening
of music! Come back soon to Chicago!!
I'm sure I'll come up with more details later for everyone, but I'll
bring this lengthy Digest to an end! I hope to meet more of you on the road,
or perhaps I can make it to Fan Fair this year. Please keep the submissions
coming!
P.S. I took two rolls of pictures during the show, look for them very
soon on the web! Thank goodness for 1-hour photos!
