HELLO ALL MARTINA FANS!!!

I'm sorry, but I love writing to you guys!! It's so nice to be in
contact with so many people who like the same stuff I do!!! I'm Kelli
Beitlich, and I love Martina....the other day, I had my CD platter filled
with Martina McBride CD's and was listening to them while I was writing an
essay paper for the term, and my sister came in. She just cmae in to see
if I was still alive because I had been in there happily working to the
music of Martina's beautiful voice for over 3 hours! She asked me HOW I
could POSSIBLY stand listening to the SAME CD's over and over, day after
day...I said "WHAT???"
You guys, I know, understand how I can listen to them all the time, because
you are the only other sane people in this world with a taste for great
music. I was astonished at the question, and I could say it suprised me at
how she dared question the loyalty and faith of a Martina McBride fan. you
probably could not even BELIEVE that we are actually sisters. But, i just
HAD to tell you about this sister of mine who is currently without the
sense of belonging to a certain type of music, whether it be hard rock,
jazz, R & B, COUNTRY, Rap or classical. (But I'm working on converting her
over from the tentative ALTERNATIVE side k...?) I'll keep you posted.
Well, right now, i should be studying for phisiology and anatomy, but I
am AGAIN listening to the SWEET voice of Martina McBride....I'm in
heaven....

OK....Time for a Martina story that proved to me who Martina
McBride really is.....

I have long been a follower of Martina, and this summer I traveled to Eau
Claire, Wisconsin from my hometown of Minnetonka, Minnesota for CountryJam
USA for the SPECIFIC performance of Martina, scheduled for 6:30 pm on
Friday, July 19th. I went there with my brother, (I have to say, also a
alterantive music fan, but i have succesfully broadened his horizons to
include country- ie. Black Hawk & Martina etc..)early that Friday
morning...I could not buy a weekend pass, because my softball team was
playing in the Sate Tournament that next morning in Owatonna, Minnesota and
I was to pitch. I enjoyed the WHOLE day of performances by Sammy Kershaw,
Jeff Carson, Richochet, Rhett Atkins, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, but when
6:30 came around, that was when I was happy. Martina was WOUNDERFUL!! HEAR
THAT MARTINA?? the crowd just adored and LOVED her...we called her out for
an encore..She was just great...believe it or not, this was the first time
I was able to see Martina in concert since becoming a fan in 1993...BOY,
WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT!! I have been in the fan club for a while, but it
turned out, after the concert, I did not have my membership pass... =( =(
=(...I was soooooooo angry with myself. I had missed my first opprotunity
to meet Martina. So I stood helplessly outside the roped off line of Fan
Club members hoping to God that someone would be kind enough to take in my
Wild Angels CD for me and see, perhaps if Martina would be a generous soul
and sign one lowly fans CD and make one more person happy......I got up the
courage to ask one nice looking honest woman if she would PLEASE try for
me. She said it probably wouldn't happen, but it was worth a try..

So there I stood, outside, while the fans from the front of the line
gradually filtered out of the tent, one by one. Each of those who came out
had said that she was NOT signing, and then my hopes went down..
But then came the woman to whom I had given my CD to wit h a BIG smile on
her face...SHE HAD SIGNED FOR THE END OF THE LINE, AND MY GOD, MARTINA
MCBRIDE TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE ONE MORE PERSON HAPPY AND HAD SIGNED MY CD
FOR ME!!!=) =) =)

I was instantly happy.. I don't think I have been that happy since that
day, when my role model REALLY showed me how much patience she has with her
smothering fans. SHE ALWAYS has a smile on her face, and I have NEVER seen
her otherwise...she is THE NICEST person in country music, and I wouldn't
doubt it if she were voted the nicest by all country fans.

MARTINA: Thanks for being who you are. I hope you stay that thoughtful,
caring, Down-To-Earth lady that you are. That day, you really let you
inner personality show, and I will always remember you for that!!

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, AND KEEP THEM COMING...

With Love, and God Bless,

Kelli Beitlich

ps...my softball team went on the day after CountryJam USA to the National
Tournament in Shreveport, Louisiana! Thanks for the good luck Martina!!

(Hey Kelli, Martina also provided luck for my man Dale Earnhardt when
she gave him an autograph before a race she attended (and sang the
national anthem at) and he won!

Also, I think it's great that people like different types of music!
Country isn't the only good music there is! As I write this, I have
the new BoDeans cd in the player, and I think it's great! - Darren)

Hello, all:

Sorry to be late with this, but family problems have interfered with tyhe
true meaning of life.

I second Mr. Phinney-the Red Wing shows of November 1 & 2 were phenomenal.
Martina was having a ball, and the crowd just went nuts.

First the venue. The Treasure Island Casino is in operation, but the hotel
attached to it is under construction. The rrom where the concert was held
was a large conference room, with a stage set along the long wall, and loose
chairs set up in arc around it. The doors beside the stage opened directly
to the outdoors, and the buses. As luck would have it, I was able to get
through very early the day the tickets went on sale, and had center seats 4
rows from the stage. he room probably held a few hundred chairs-quite
small, and all on one level.

The first night, Martina came on stage all in black, and launched into Blue
Moon of Kentucky. I have the set list, if anyone is interested, as the
second night I was able to retrieve one from the stage as it was taken
apart. The crowd was loving it, and suggested that she cancel the following
night's show and do 2 that night. She ran through the band intro's with a
little anecdote for each one. She announced that her grandmother made her
video debut on her current video, and that Cry On The Shoulder would be the
5th and final cut from this album. She encored with a song that she often
says is her favourite-It Wasn't Me, and then You're The One.

Afterwards, in the autograph line, I ran into a couple of people whom I'd
met before at Martina's FanFair parties. That was unexpected, as we'd never
said where we from. The autograph line took a long time, as there were a
lot of radio people and probably some sort of contest winners.

The second night was pretty much a repeat of the first, as far as the songs
went (fine by me). Martina was wearing a really neat crushed velvet jacket
that caught the coloured lights in strange patterns. Martina did a little
more joking with the crowd. At one point, she announced that she loved this
place and would try to come back for a week, at which point some wit in the
crowd offered to let her stay at his place. Martina announced that she
snored, and another wit on the other side of the room roared that she
wouldn't be snoring. Martina replied "and you'd be dreaming", to the
delight of the crowd. A little later, she invited the crowd to come with
them on the bus the next day, which prompted another "you won't be snoring",
and Martina replied that that was a good line, and if he kept using it maybe
one day it would work.

She did the same encore as the first night, except that the crowd roared for
'Heart Trouble', and she backed down and said that she would do 3 songs.
She was obviously loving both shows, and the crowd loved her back. The
line-up was smaller the second night, and I had a new camera, as my old one
had made a grinding noise and given up the ghost that morning. While I was
fooling with the camera, the picture I had brought to get signed
disappeared. I suspect I put it down on a case that got wheeled out. Not a
big problem-I got a new one taken.

A fantastic show-sorry for taking up all this space-maybe in future these
should be sent to the web page.

Subject: RE: Martina McBride Tour Jacket

Eric Nelson, Martina's original drummer, now touring with Tracy Lawrence,
wishes to sell his "Martina McBride on Tour" band jacket.

Only the band members had them, and there were only 12 in existence.

If you know someone that would want it please e-mail me.

Size of the jacket is "L".

It is a very nice jacket. Sort of like a highschool letter jacket with
the leather sleeves, etc, etc. It is very nice looking and RARE.

Fortunately he doesn't have any use for it any more and he thinks it's a
shame to let it sit in the closet when someone would really enjoy having
it. He mentioned something about $ 350.00... seems Martina paid almost
that much, but he doesn't really remember.

Thanks,

Charlie & Eric

(Please e-mail Mr. Thorpe with offers on the jacket. His e-mail
         address is: [email protected])
