"Hairdos and Heartache: The Women of Country Music"
This new two-hour documentary special is arguably the most in-depth look at the history of women in country music ever presented on TV. It's about the singers, the songs, the glamour, the hard work, and the heartache of the country music business, presented from the women's point of view. Artists appearing (in new interviews!) in the documentary include Barbara Mandrell, Reba McEntire, Emmylou Harris, Loretta Lynn, Wynonna Judd, Martina McBride, k.d. lang, LeAnn Rimes, Lee Ann Womack, Trisha Yearwood, Sara Evans, Naomi Judd, Pam Tillis, Tanya Tucker, Alison Krauss, Patty Loveless, Allison Moorer, Brenda Lee, Connie Smith, Crystal Gayle, Jean Shepherd, Jeannie Seely, Gail Davies, Terri Clark, Jessi Colter, Carlene Carter, Jessica Andrews, K.T. Oslin, Matraca Berg, Gretchen Peters, Laura Cantrell, Lori McKenna, Lynn Anderson, Miranda Lambert, and Wanda Jackson. In addition, throughout the program, Robert K. Oermann, Beverly Keel, Tracy Gershon, and Hazel Smith, among others, offer commentary and insight.
