WOW, what a week....

First off, last Saturday I was on my way to get my mop chopped (hair cut), and my car conked out on me. So I had it towed to the dealership where I bought it. While there, I got a rental car to get me through, until my car could be repaired.

That same night, I became VERY ill. Not able to keep any food or drink down, getting NO sleep, while maintaining a VERY HIGH blood sugar count. Then Sunday evening, after talking to my mom & dad on the phone, they encouraged me to get my butt into the hospital. So I reluctantly called 911 and they transported me to the emergency room at 7:30 pm, where I was treated, then admited to the Intensive Care Unit at 3:30 am.

I spent the next 3 days in the ICU, being treated for Diabetic Ketoacidosis. I had 3 different IV's in me, a heart monitor, pumps on my legs (to keep the blood from clotting). Every 2 hours they drew blood, checked my blood pressure, and sugar. (How do they expect you to get any rest when they keep buggin' ya every 2 hours, huh?!?!) I was virtually a prisoner in my own bed.

Finally, I was released Wednesday afternoon. The whole time that friggin' rental car was just sittin' in a parking spot wasting space & my money. I was able to get my car back today for a BUNCH of $$$$. I had to deplete my bank account, max out 1 of my credit cards, and put the balance on another card.

I remember our friend Jimmy Enfinger (Bashful Boy). He went through hell with a smile on his face. I draw strength from Jimmy's attitude towards life. Funny thing is, I was wearing a t-shirt that Jimmy sent me (CSR Cycle Salvage Racing) when I went into the hospital.

Anyway, I'm doin' alright now, physically exhausted but I will live to see another day. I may not be able to afford to see ALL the Martina shows I planned on seeing this summer but, at least I'm alive & kickin'. :)
