Acm Awards, dates??? Options

If this awards show has politics involved - I do not see Mcgraw winning. I see the same people singing, and winning. IF we are lucky Alan Jackson, TK, or even Reba may sing or win an award just for some variety...



I would like to see Tim win - but I do not see that happening given Label, Radio, and NAshville politics these days.

You are correct and I see Tim being overlooked again, his own label don't even support him. The only reason I think he may have a chance for Song of the Year is because he did that song on that show last year. It gave free publicity to the show since the performance was taken from that show that played on radio and even the youtube was from that show. That is plus for that song to win, ONLY the song though Tim won't get anything else.

If I had a say Lori McKenna would get a nod and her album, its one of the best in 2007 and would be up for album of the year.

Also if Kenny wins his 4th ACM Entertainer in a Row and his 7th in a row when you combined ACM's and CMA, I WILL LITERALLY GET SICK.

I do agree with you on "If You're Reading This" his performance last year was without a doubt the best (Martina too) and as long as one of them take home the award I'll be happy.

Luckily "Before He Cheats" is not eligible this time around!...but that still leaves "Wasted" and "So Small" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

My expectations range from very low to very high.

The low end would be Martina and family leave for vacation day before the show and the high end would be she is nominated for all possible catagories and wins a few of them.

I have small feeling that perhaps Garth Brooks may get a nomination for EOY, or album of the year. He was one of the best selling solo artists last year- and dropped a song a #1 on the country charts that stayed around the top 10 for how many weeks. He also had 2 songs in the top for for a large number of weeks...

Granted he may have "bought" his #1 - but the song still dropped at #1 just the same.

Even Carrie Underwood did not accomplish that.

First the album is not in the running, they have rules about how much of the material has to be new and his doesn't meet the requirments. That is one reason you never see Greatest Hits packages nominated.

Also he is not one ot the Top selling country artist of the year he is not even in the Top 5. Actually Tim was the Top selling Male artist in country in 2007 and #10 overall in all of music.

As for entertainer he has won his share no need to be greedy, He went to one building and did his concerts to give it to him would be a slap in the fact to them artist that toured for months, hitting the highway from town to town.

Like I said he has won more than his share to give it to him would be a slap in the face to them artists that did the hard work over the course of the year.

Tim may be the #1 contry artist of 2007- but Garth Brooks it the #1 US selling SOLO artist of ALL TIME...


Tim deserves a nomination- but along with Kenny, and company many think that Tim, Kenny and others have won MORE than enough awards...

I based my theory on that Garths concerts sold out faster than Tim and Faiths S2S tour or Kennys Stadium Tour.

Lets not forget that he only charged $25-$35? per ticket and 100% OF ALL SALES went to the charty- not just NET PROFITS...

Garths concerts sold out with in 5 minutes....

I am not saying it is right- but Garth is just about the ONLY artist other than REBA that can get away with living outside of the Nashville environment.

Garth, Like Reba, has played the Nashville establishment like a finely tuned symphony quartette..
he is a politican at heart when it comes to Nashville country music politics.

My final unbiased guess would be the first 5 I listed. Am I missing anyone? I would say no to Carrie, because she didn't even headline, did she (I mean she co-headlined wit Keith very late in the eligiblity timeframe)? God I pray Martina makes the cut...just not sure it will happen...She certainly deserves it 100% (think positive, think positive...)
