She'll get special treatment in jail anyway. She won't be with the "common criminals". No way would they put her (she's gorgeous, rich, famous, etc.) in an area with women who murder, steal, etc. She would definitely have problems if they did.
Gorgeous? We are talking about the same person here? I think she's ugly as homemade sin. She wouldn't look good to me after a case of Budlight, and that says ALOT (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) That skinny chick she used to hang with was pretty hot... if she'd eat a burger or something. |

In a way, I wish people would lay off Paris. So she just likes to go out and party all the time and not do much else. Big whoop. Who cares? Granted, I don't understand the whole media craze about her because she's really just a nobody (one of those "famous for being famous" scenarios I guess) and she should be punished for any laws she breaks just like anybody else, but really, I think there's bigger things to worry about that what Paris is doing this week.
And yes, she is pretty. Hardly a sex symbol like the classics like Marilyn Monroe, but pretty nonetheless. Though granted a lot of those paparazzi shots don't do her justice, but some of her professional photoshoots have actually been quite beautiful. |

What I don't understand is why Paris is the one people are making a big deal of when there are celebs out there who have done far worse - and have gotten away with it. Am I a Paris Hilton fan? No, but I don't think she deserves as much scrutiny as she gets.
Look at these celebs: Mel Gibson, Eve, Nick Nolte, Tracy Morgan and Wynonna. All of them have [recently] been charged with a DUI or a DWI but didn't do jail time. Why Paris? Why not the above celebs? And what about Brandy - who's wreckless driving KILLED a young mother. Did she do jail time? No. Am I saying what Paris did is right? No, drinking and driving is NOT right and someone could have easily been killed or hurt. Do I think she deserves jail time? Maybe, but not 45 days and certainly not in the same cell as someone else. Put her in a room by herself... make her really think about what she did. Maybe she'll get the point and learn from her mistakes. |

Seemingly she is getting a lesser sentence, now there is a surprise.
I agree about the other Celebs and they are treated with kid gloves sometimes. And up till now Paris has been too and if its right she is getting a lesser sentence after being told she was to do the whole 45 days. Then i am afraid money and fame wins. BTW,i am not having a go at you. |

She pushes herself into the limelight and has become a bad indfluence to young girls who look up to her. I am sure lots of young girls dont eat,to try an dne anorexic as her and Nicole. The way I see it, she didn't push herself into the limelight. She just sort of came out of nowhere. Somebody decided to do a reality show with her, and that's how it all started. And I personally feel the idea that young girls look up to her is often overestimated. I happen to know a lot of young girls (sisters and cousins of friends, my own cousins, kids who live on our street, etc.) and I know none of them look up to her or even give her much thought at all. And I know others have heard the same as well. A friend of mine tutors school kids and has noticed the same thing. (Most of them seem to look up instead to Hilary Duff, who is a much better role model for young girls.) Sure, there's probably some kids out there who look up to Paris, but I don't think it's as widespread as so many people think. Then again, I'm not really much for the whole "celebrities as role model" thing to begin with. I think everybody's role models should be their own parents, but obviously that's just not possible in some cases, so it's only natural for kids to look elsewhere for someone to look up to. That said, I don't think that celebrities should intentionally live their lives trying to be a role model. If a celebrity happens to be a role model just because of their very nature (they lead a normal life, do normal things, are just a normal good upstanding person), then more power to them. But I don't think someone should say to themselves "Gee, there might be people looking up to me. I better watch everything I do." This post has been edited by Remy266: May 11 2007, 12:09 PM |

Maybe she'll get the point and learn from her mistakes. She's actually getting the jail time for violating her probation that came from the DUI. She did not get jail time for the DUI, which is apparently quite common for a first offense. She got probation and was supposed to complete an alcohol treatment program. She NEVER even signed up for the alcohol program. And she violated her probation TWICE (by driving on a suspended license) - which is why she's getting the jail time. She should serve her time just like anyone else would. But, from what I've heard on the news, she will likely not serve the full 45 days due to the overcrowding of the jails. They were speculating that she'd only serve about 3 weeks. |

She's a spoiled rotten, self-absorbed little brat who deserves what she got. If Joe Citizen gets 45 days for doing the same thing, he does his time & so should she! Petitioning the governor---over a driving on a suspended? Is she SERIOUS? And then she's back behind the wheel again the next day! Talk about not living in the real world! That girl is so useless! Paris Hilton will serve about half of her 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities said. The hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a "special needs housing unit" at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said. Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior, Whitmore said. Officials considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date, he said. More... |

I heard that she got the jail time for not opening her mail regarding related court dates, saying she pays someone to open her mail for her and he didn't do it, so she can't be held responsible. The judge disagreed.

Not that this relates to Paris Hilton, but a local news anchor was drunk one night and killed an innocent man. He is asking people for forgiveness, please!!! He should serve his time!!
