I heard that they weren't releasing one after all, too. That's disapointing because I'm upset that I couldn't see them this summer and they were talking about one at all the pre-parties. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

They only actually own afew songs that they sing. If they release a DVD any material they sing - they would have to give money to the writers, along with their publicaion companies. It may be a matter of a it being a legal and finacial head issue..

Well many country artist have put out DVD's and they don't own heir songs, didn't write them. George Strait put out a DVD and he didn't write any ot the songs and doesn't own them. I don't think that's the reason.

I think it has more to do with Tim's label. Tim from what I've heard owes Curb one more studio album then he can record only with his Stylesonic label or sign with another label. I just think especially the bull his label has given him why wouldhe want to do anything special like that and give it to them.

I've heard that is why he has never recorded a Christmas album or a Live album yet. Once he is no longer under their thumb I think we will see special projects like that from Curb.

It will be interesting to see what he ends up doing. Eventhough he has his own label- he may need to have some sort of business deal with one of the big 4 for distribution purposes so he can not "burn his bridges". Nashville is also a small town he may also have to be careful on how he plays his next move.

Anything Tim does will be better than being with his label, anything. His label is the worst label in the business. His label has not allowed him to record duets with other artists when he has wanted too unless they were a Curb artist are Faith.

A few years back Tim recorded an excellent song called Honky Tonk Champagene with Darryl Dodd to be on his Pearl album. The label wouldn't allow it, the bootleg copy wound up at a Texas station and even charted on the Texas chart but it was pulled from radio and Darryl's CD by Tim's label..

He has recorded with his friends the Warren Brothers, but the label has not allowed them to be released to radio and his name not even mention on the album at all. He recorded on two of Kenny's albums but the only way it could be done was Tim's name could not be listed. So even though he is on two of Kenny's album his name is listed nowhere on the CD or liner notes. Tim has done that other times sing backup on a song on a artsit album but he does it by not letting his name be mentioned and no credit. That is the only way he can cause of his label.

He had a song on that Acoustic Christmas album a few years ago that the proceeds even went for charity, his label made them pull his song at the last minute. That is why you never see Tim on them tribute albums and such his label will not allow it unless the album comes from Tim's label.

They have stuck it to Tim many times you all know about his first GH album them releasing it even though he thought it was too early. That is why there was no new singles on it.. Well they did the same thing with his second GH album. Tim was set to release his Let It Go album in the fall of 2005 it was ready to go but the label pulled it and did the second GH album, Tim was bitter stated in an interview guess they wanted more money. Kinda sad that neither of his GH album got released in the time frame he wanted them too.

The label is putting out this limited edition 3 CD box set in May. Have no idea whats on it, Tim is not involved in it all all. All it did was delay his new album. He was all set to release his first single from his new album in January but the label released Suspicions and now have released Kristofferson. The box set will dealy his new album till end of summer or the fall. They don't even advertise it or mention it on Tim's site, its all the LABELS doing with NO consideration what Tim wants.

The first single from the second GH was supposed to be I've Got Friends That Do but the label wanted When The Stars Go Blue. Tim went behind their back and even sent a CD copy of the song to some DJ hoping to be able to get the song as the leadoff single.

Curb puts these bannera on the radio industry sites promoting Rodney's LeAnn, and Clay Walker's singles but NEVER once did they put a banner on the sites promoting If Your Reading This or Suspicions. With the CMA's last year they had banners on industry site promoting Rodney for Male Vocalist and Album of the Year. Not once did they promote or advertise to the voters for Tim for any CMA nod.

Curb released If Your Reading This against Tim's wishes he had NO intention of releasing that song at all it was suppose to be just a one time thing but Curb did it anyway. Tim never actually went in the studio and recorded it they just cleaned up the ACM performance.

So like I said the sooner Tim is done with that greedy label that Tim has made millions for the better Tim fans will have it and the more happy Tim will be.

ProudNavymom-

That was an interesting read- thanks for posting. I find also find it interesting that even in a seriously struggling market that SONY-BMG pushes just about all of their big acts. They had Martina on just about every show they could and (being on that label I am sure is a big reason) she ended up hanging out at fashion week in NYC. Yes, they push Carrie Underwood, Brad, and Kenny but Martina is one of a very few artists (not just females) that was able to an entire album - HER WAY... How many artists can say that?

I am sorry Tim is getting the back side of the hand when it comes to his label. I am suprised that Tim did not hire some Wallstreet law firm to take a look at his contract 5 or so years ago. I saw an interview with Toby Keith when he was having label troubles. Toby and his laywer went straight to the label and hammered out an deal to get him released. Toby also had to have a number of accountants verify that he was good to go. Toby was very public but also diplomatic about this because he also knew he may need to do business with them in the future. The interesting thing about TK was that he dropped 5 million of his own money just to open the door of the label. He also took a large number of staff members with him.

I just do not understand why Tim doesn't just buy his way out - he has more than enough money to do so, or negociate his way out of his contract sooner

Tim Mcgraw should have gotten better lawyers about 5 years ago and negociated (bought- what ever you want to call it) his way out of that contract...

The guy makes money hand over fist- I am sure he could afford it if he really wanted to..
