Watching You, Rodney Atkins.

I liekd this first single, the Hell Song,
but I disliked this from get-go, and now especially after hearing 1 million times.

If I never hear it again it will be too soon.

But I suppose I will when I go to Martina's show! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Cordially,

Tom

Honky Tonk Badonkadonk makes me cringe. Almost as bad: Kenny Chesney , Summertime; and Dierks Bentley, Settle for a Slow Down.

Anybody remember an old psycho-delic song called "Pictures Of Match-Stick Men"? It was out in '69 or '70 I think....Anyway I had kind of a sort-of-nervous-collapse in high school due to overwork, fatigue, & certain rotten kids at school; if that song came on at night it would literally send me into a panic attack (I guess it was like my "Psycho" music) I heard the intro in a store one day recently & I nearly dropped my groceries!!
Another song that still gives me heebies is "Lola" ("...la la la la Lola...") by the Kinks. There used to be a jukebox in the lunchroom at school & the was one little Beavis-type jerk (he really looked like Beavis!) who would play that song & come over to my table & when it got to the line, "...I know what I am and in bed I'm a man, and so's Lola..." he would sing it out loud IN MY FACE!! It took me years to get past that. Thank God for Weird Al Yankovic turning it into a song about Yoda from "Star Wars," because now I can smile when I hear it.

QUOTE(wildlacylady @ Apr 10 2007, 11:12 PM)
ohh baby baby... by Linda Rhonstadt!!!! we used to have a juke box in my restaurant and my crew knew that song made my nerves stand on edge.. So every night at closing.. they would turn it up and play in as loud as they could stand it.. So... when the juke box man came in one day to change the 45's.. I had him take it off and i baked it in the oven for about 10 minutes... til the edges of the 45 curled up and then i hung it on a string in the back room so they all would see it... I loved that... payback!!!

I'm sorry you hate that song so much...You ought to treat yourself to a listen to the original of "Ooo Baby Baby" (real title) by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles. Linda is a good singer but she really oversang some of those oldies. Another Motown classic she massacred is "Heat Wave." Anyway, go check out the simple elegant beauty of Smokey's original "OBB" (Smokey also wrote it)---the way his voice breaks in the middle when he says "Ba...bybaby..." LR doesn't song it, she yells it & stomps all over it!
Once you try the Smokey version, you'll wonder why you ever stood for the imitation! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I forgot about the excremental version LR did of Smokey's "Tracks Of My Tears"!! She shoulda been tied up & gassed for that one!!
"Indian Outlaw" by Tim McGraw---All copies of this racist poo-pie should be rounded up & used by the Army for target practice!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

"When The Stars Go Blue" by Tim McGraw. The chorus drives me crazy.
"Missing You" by John Waite and Rod Stewart: I was never crazy about the original, now with Rod's version, I hear this song every day.

It used to be anything by Tim Mcgraw - but since a number of people complained to our local radio station and they dont play him every hour on the hour he no longer annoys me.

Now Tracy Lawrance w/ Kenny and Tim gets way over played....

Last Dollar - Tim McGraw - I mean seriously...the lyrics are below mediocre.
Anything by Carrie. She is WAAAAY overplayed. She's good and everything...but no one's THAT good.
And most Rascal Flatts. They're not God either.

Radio SUCKS these days.

I can't stand Building Bridges by Brooks and Dunn....that song drives me crazy! In fact I'm not a fan of any Brooks and Dunn songs but some I can handle more than others.
